Description

WP2: Revealing the Milky Way with Gaia Doctoral Network (MWGaiaDN) Training programme: Kick Off Workshop

The Revealing the Milky Way with Gaia Doctoral Network (MWGaiaDN) features PhD projects focused on the science that can be extracted from Gaia DR3 and Gaia DR4 but also projects that look forward towards the potential follow-up to the Gaia mission, GaiaNIR, investigating the technical challenges that will have to be overcome. With an eye on the even longer term the Gaia celestial reference frame will be investigated in detail and the challenges of sub-microarcsecond astrometry will be researched aiming at relativistic astrometric models at the 10 nanoarcsec level.

The workshop will take place from the 7 to 8 September 2023

The conference will be in hybrid format.
